“What will happen when we think about what is right with people rather than fixating on what is wrong with them?” – Don Clifton
Are you ready to make a change? Be honest. Change takes commitment and challenges us to move outside our comfort zone. If you’re ready, strengths leadership coaching can make all the difference in becoming a more effective and respected leader (whether you manage people or not) and reaching your next level.
Living in Your Top 1%™ is about maximizing YOUR potential. It’s about gaining clarity, believing in yourself and turning your ideas into action. It’s about seeing opportunities when others see challenges and pursuing meaningful goals to bring you greater fulfillment. It’s not about comparing yourself to others. Living in Your Top 1% focuses on your top 1% rather than how society defines the top 1%. The difference seems small but the impact is huge. Everyone can enjoy “top 1%” moments regardless of title, status, education, or finances.
A strengths based approach is both inspiring and confidence building because it focuses on what we do right and how we can leverage our talents. When we use our strengths we also improve our engagement levels which leads to an increase in satisfaction, productivity and profitability. In a society that focuses on what’s wrong, this framework is a forward looking and positive approach.
Strengths based leadership coaching can help you identify and leverage your strengths, understand how your strengths work for and against you, develop as a leader whether you manage a team or not, manage your team more effectively, build strategic partnerships, develop strategies to overcome challenges and identify new opportunities, feel more engaged in your career and leverage strengths to achieve your goals. Strengths leadership coaching is an effective resource for managers, executives and teams who want an engaging, trusted, insightful and objective consultant.
Gallup’s research suggests that people who focus on using their strengths are 3x as likely to report having an excellent quality of life and are 6x as likely to be engaged in their jobs. People working in the strengths zone have more positive, creative and innovative moments and achieve more on a daily basis. In addition, teams that focus on strengths have 12.5% greater productivity. We use the CliftonStrengths Assessment to gain a base understanding of each person’s talents and then help develop them into strengths.
Moving to the Next Level
Just as musicians practice their instruments and athletes train their bodies, we also need to train our minds to perform the way we want. By training our minds, our thoughts lead to consistent and focused actions that ultimately produce our desired results. This probably is not news to most people, but it is a fact we often overlook in our desire for quick results. And it’s where a strengths leadership coach can help you make progress.
We have endless resources to live a great life — motivational books, CD’s, talk shows, podcasts and newsletters. Yet, people continue to search for fulfillment and balance and are overly stressed, burned out or not connected in their daily lives. The process of living in your top 1% is a journey — and a successful program makes that experience exciting and incredibly fulfilling.
The bottom line is that living in your top 1% is a choice. You have to consciously choose to integrate work and all areas of your life to reach the next level.

Research Shows…
It’s no secret that consistency, motivation and determination bring results. Who better to encourage you to maintain your laser focus than a coach? In effect, your coach makes sure you show up for practice and helps you design an inspiring and authentic game plan. Research shows that people who work with coaches for three months or longer accomplish 80% of their goals. The best athletes in the world all have a coach and support team. Why wouldn’t you do the same so you can be your best?
My coaching style assumes that only you know what you want, but we recognize that significant changes take place one small step at a time. The power of small steps is one of the secrets to success. We’ll help motivate, encourage, and challenge you to keep taking those steps and be your biggest supporter during the process. Together we can create your blueprint for change, and then help you stay on track. The process starts by identifying your strengths and clarifying your key priorities.
Return on Investment
Significant research has been done showing that coaching makes a positive change both to the individual and the company’s bottom line. A study in October 2007 by the Milken Institute, an independent economic think tank, on “An Unhealthy America: The Economic Burden of Chronic Disease” concludes that the cost of the seven most common chronic diseases could be dramatically decreased through more effective prevention (exercise, diet, nutrition, maintaining a healthy weight) and treatment. Specific benefits include:
- Increased worker productivity
- Reduction in sick days
- Decrease in employee health risks and healthcare costs
- The protection of your most important asset — Human Capital
- People who use their strengths are six times as likely to be engaged in their jobs and have 7.8% greater productivity
- Teams who receive strengths-based development have 14-29% increased profit, 10-19% increased sales and 3-7% higher customer engagement
- Dramatic goal achievement: Employees who work with Coaches three months or longer reach 80% of their three month behavioral Goals
The Science of Coaching
Alissa Finerman’s coaching framework is focused on helping to set and clarify goals that inspire you to move forward with an enhanced level of self-efficacy and determination. The conversations are based on methodologies and processes which include strengths based development (via Gallup research), positive psychology, emotional intelligence/self-awareness and goal setting techniques.
Every person is unique and so is every coaching relationship. There is no one-size-fits all coaching model. Coaching conversations are either in person or over the phone and both are successful methods. The typical individual coaching engagement includes a 60 minute kick-off strategy session (where we discuss strengths and how they help you be successful in your role) followed by a coaching call every two weeks (depending on your schedule). The agenda is driven by the client and is most effective when the client is ready and committed to focus on growth and developing as a leader. It’s time to set the shoulds aside and get started and focus on what’s possible for you, your team and your company!
